Due to weather conditions on May 10, the festival is rescheduled for Friday, May 17, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Friday, May 10, 2013, Bill Oliver presents his annual Mother Earth Day Festival, an event intended to raise environmental awareness, with a focus on the Barton Springs and Barton Creek area. Families and children of all ages are invited to this free event, which also makes a great end of the school year field trip. Every activity is made to ensure that kids from 4-13 years of age have a great time and an interactive learning experience. Students will learn about the importance of our habitat, water conservation, endangered and protected species, and much more. Other activities include art projects, live music, and magic and puppet shows.
The festival is held from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. in Zilker Park, just across the parking lot from the Zilker Hillside Theater. Featured performances include Sue Young, bilingual songwriter and story teller; Bill Oliver and the Otter Space Band; and the Ortega Superstar Choir.
