Nice weather means lots of opportunities to visit various Market Days in Austin and surrounding cities. Here's a list of monthly markets where shoppers will find arts and crafts, homemade goodies, live music, and more to make the perfect day trip.
Wimberley Lions Market Days -- Held on the first Saturday of each month, March - December. The first Market Days of 2013 will be Saturday, March 2. Wimberley hosts the oldest outdoor market in the Texas Hill Country and the second-largest in the state. The market features over 475 booths of everything you can't live without. Come stroll tree-shaded paths, listen to live music and shop to your heart's content. Open 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. No pets please. Admission is free; parking in one of the three large lots is $5. Round Rock Market Days -- The first Market Days of 2013 will be Saturday, March 2. A monthly event held on the first Saturday of each month (second Satuday in October), Round Rock Market Days is held in the historic downtown Round Rock area with lots of vendors, arts and crafts, food vendors, artisans, farmer's market, music, shopping and more. Open 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. (211 E. Main St., Round Rock)
Georgetown Second Saturday Market Days -- The Downtown Square comes alive with booths featuring handmade arts & crafts, jewelry, unique clothing, woodcrafts, ironworks, festive foods, antiques & collectables, stained glass, along with live concerts and a kids area. Market Days are the second Saturday of each month, March - November. The first Market Days of 2013 will be Saturday, March 9. Open 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Gruene Market Days -- The Gruene Market Days are held the 3rd full weekend of each month, February - November, and the 1st weekend of December. The next Market Days will be Saturday, March 16. Open 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Take IH-35 Exit 191, go west 1.5 miles. Take a Left onto Hunter Road. The market is located on the grounds in front of the Adobe Verde Restaurant. Visit them on Facebook here.
Pine Street Market Days in Bastrop -- Pine Street Market days are scheduled on the second Saturday of the month from April - December in Downtown Historic Bastrop. The first Market Days of 2013 will be held on Saturday, April 13. Vendors have for sale arts & crafts, jewelry, children’s clothes, candles, woodworking, and many other handmade items. Open 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Located at Main and Pine Streets.
Austin Handmade Arts Market -- Held on the second weekend of the month, Austin Handmade Arts Market is Austin's indoor market for local artists, crafters, and designers to sell their handmade items to the general public. Local musicians, and complimentary Wine Walk Saturdays and Beer Browse Sundays (for guests 21 and older, while supplies last). Open Saturdays 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. (Wine Walk 12 p.m. - 7 p.m.) and Sundays 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. (Beer Browse 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.) The Market will open for 2013 on Saturday, April 13. Located at Vuka Co-Op (411 Monroe Street West).
Elgin Market Days -- The first Saturday of each month from February - December, Market Days is held at the beautiful Elgin Memorial Park, on Main Street just off of Hwy 95 North. Vendors bring everything from flea market to garage sale to craft items to sell at the park. (Please be advised that although this information is online, we were unable to confirm with anyone by phone that this Market is definitely happening on Saturday, March 2.)
