On Saturday, March 2, 2013, the Austin Parks Foundation will host the 11th Annual It's My Park Day, a day to celebrate and improve parks and public spaces throughout Austin’s neighborhoods. Last year over 2000 volunteers gathered to take part in over 70 park improvement projects across the city. This year APF hopes to get 2500 volunteers to help out with the over 75 projects.
Volunteers are invited to register to help with any of the projects, which typically run from 9:00 a.m. - noon. Austin Parks Foundation provides the tools, supplies, and a special-edition t-shirt for all volunteers. Snacks are provided by Wheatsville Co-op and Clif Bar, and Chipotle Mexican Grill is generously providing a cilantro seed kit and a buy-one-get-one card redeemable at any restaurant. Children are welcome at many of the projects.
To see the full list of projects and to sign up to volunteer, visit the Austin Parks Foundation website. If you plan on bringing your whole family, please be careful which project you choose.
