Chinese New Year at Chinatown Austin

On Saturday, February 16, 2013, from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., Chinatown Austin will be welcoming the Year of the Snake with a free, all day Chinese New Year celebration featuring firecrackers, lion and dragon dances, face painting, martial arts, Chinese calligraphy, rock climbing, and more. 
  • 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. -- Opening Ceremonies featuring Asian Fusion Dance Theater, traditional South Indian dances, Bharathanatyam Indian classical dances, traditional Chinese performances including lantern and umbrella dances, drum routine, martial arts, and lion and dragon dances
  • 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. -- Community Resource Fair with local nonprofits, businesses, family fun, and more
  • 12 - 3 p.m. -- Thien Hau and Linh Son, Lion Dance Team
  • 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. -- Ronald Magic Show
  • 2 - 4:30 p.m. -- Free face painting and Kiwi the Clown
  • 3 - 6 p.m. -- Texas Dragon and Lion Dance Team and Summitt Dragon Dance
  • 3:30 - 4 p.m. -- Hawaiian Hula Performance and Hula Dance Lessons
  • All day activities include a rock climbing wall, four station bungee trampoline, mechanical bull, and magnetic wall
