The 14th Annual African American Community Heritage Festival will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2013, on the grounds of Huston Tillotson University, from 1 to 5 p.m. 

The fun filled, one-day event features food vendors, interactive and educational activities for children, and a variety of artistic performances. Children's activities will be centrally located in BCBSTX's Kids Zone and will include child-friendly entertainment such as finger puppet-making, free bicycle helmets, and more. Adults can enjoy step shows from fraternities and sororities, slam poetry, live music, dance, local crafts, and artisan work. 

African American Community Heritage Festival is a family-friendly extravaganza.  Games and vendors will include:
  • Kid’s Zone with bounce houses
  • Safety demonstrations
  • Arts & crafts
  • Home d├ęcor
  • Books
  • Clothing and jewelry
  • Storytelling
  • Health, vision and dental screenings and insurance outreach 
  • Dance
  • Prizes 
  • Live entertainment (schedule)
