  1. The Biscuit Brothers at Arbor Trails - Saturday, August 25, from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.  The new Whole Foods Market at Arbor Trails in South Austin will have a fun run, an in-store organic scavenger hunt, and a visit from Austin's own Biscuit Brothers! The events start at 8 a.m. with a fun run, followed by yoga at 10 a.m. The Biscuits take the stage at noon as the scavenger hunt commences. The Shops at Arbor Trails will be hosting a Back to School Bash, from noon - 4 p.m.  Visit the shopping center for food, music, games and more.  Shops at Arbor Trails, 4301 W. William Cannon, Austin.
  2. Clothing Exchange - Saturday, August 25, from 9 a.m. - noon. A clothing swap is a fun, smart, green and inexpensive way to simultaneously get rid of all the clothes, shoes, and accessories that you never wear but have been taking up space. At the same time, you can find a bunch of new clothes and meet the interesting people who chose your new gear! The other purpose for the event will be to collect donated clothes and give clothes to foster families. First Baptist Church of Austin, 901 Trinity, Austin.
  3. Alamo Kids Club: The Last Unicorn - Saturday, August 25 at 11 a.m. FREE screening of The Last Unicorn (1982) (G).  Children age 3 and over will be allowed at  this show. No infants however, and families with loud children will be asked to leave. Alamo South Lamar, 1120 S Lamar Blvd., Austin.
  4. Toy Joy Frankentoy Laboratory - Saturday, August 25, from 2 - 4 p.m. Toy Joy scientists are constantly in the works crafting and mending strange little creatures from the remains of broken toys. It's just one of those things they do. This process of transformation is called creating a "Frankentoy"! They thought you might like it if they opened up the doors to their secret laboratory (Tom's Tabooley) and let you volunteer your ingenuity! This Saturday cart your busted up action figures, dollies, and plush by the FrankenLab and create a new and bizarre creature! There will also be a whole assortment of bits if you want to just start from scratch! This event is FREE! Adults are welcome to participate as well!  Tom's Tabooley, 2928 Guadalupe St, Austin.
  5. BabyGlow Disco at Ruta Maya - Saturday, August 25, from 4 - 8 p.m. This is the Fourth installment of Austin Baby Disco. Hosted by the lovely folks at Ruta Maya, and presented by LateNightHouseParty. Austin Baby Disco's goal is to get like minded parents of babies, kids, and tweeners that love electronic dance music a safe and fun way to interact with their kids on the dance floor. There will also be lights, face painter, bubbles, hula hoops!  This is the final weekend to enjoy FREE kids' shows at Ruta Maya, as they will be closing their doors on August 31.  Ruta Maya, 3601 S. Congress Ave., Austin.
  6. 8th Annual Night of the Bat Fest - Saturday, August 25, from 5 p.m. - midnight. What will you see at BatFest this year? 1.5 million Mexican free-tailed bats emerging from under the bridge at dusk, two stages with live music from ten bands, more than 75 arts & crafts vendors, delicious food and drinks, fun children’s activities, a bat costume contest and other bat activities, all for FREE.  Because bats are wild animals, it is hard to predict exactly when the emergence will begin but the flight usually begins between 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. The emergence can last up to ½ hour as 1.5 million Mexican free-tailed bats head out for their nightly flight. Bat Conservation International will have a festive booth on the bridge helping celebrate Austin’s favorite furry flying friends! Bring the entire family.   7. The Austin Chronicle Hot Sauce Festival - Sunday, 11 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. If you wanna beat the heat this summer, then you gotta eat the heat - join The Austin Chronicle for the world's largest hot sauce festival with live music throughout the day. FREE to the public (with a donation of three healthy, nonperishable food items or a $3 cash donation to the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas). Fiesta Gardens, 2100 Jesse E. Segovia St., Austin.
  8. Come Dance 2012! - Sunday, August 26, from 1 - 6 p.m. Dance for FREE all afternoon! Everyone is invited! Refreshments, prizes and discounts off class and workshop purchases will be offered, to keep you dancing all year! Come Dance! 2012 classes will represent the broad range of dance styles and levels available through Ballet Austin’s BCS, which may include Ballet, Ballet Fit, Theatre Dance, Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop, Hula, Jazz Funk, Tap, Turbo Kick®, Videodance™, Modern and West African.  Each class is 40 minutes long with a 20 minute transition time between classes. Come take one class or dance all day! It's FREE and no RSVP is necessary. Just show up ready to dance. While the classes are geared towards teens and adults, children ages 8 and up are welcome to participate at Come Dance!   9. Identification Day at Texas Memorial Museum - Sunday, August 26, from 1 - 4:45 p.m. Scientists and experts will be at UT's Texas Memorial Museum for Identification Day. Have a rock or fossil that you would like to know more about? Bring it to the Museum to show the guest experts from The University of Texas at Austin and the Austin area.  Admission to the Museum is FREE and there is no charge to participate in Identification Day. Texas Memorial Museum, Texas Natural Science Center, The University of Texas at Austin, 2400 Trinity Street, Austin.
  10. Hartman Concerts in the Park - Sunday, August 26 at 7:30 p.m. This is the final FREE ensemble concert this summer, to take place in the Hartman Concert Park in front of the Long Center City Terrace. Enjoy a Big Band concert (program here). Concertgoers are encouraged to bring a picnic dinner and blanket and make it a group outing. Free Parking is available at One Texas Center located on Barton Springs Rd. at S. 1st St. The Long Center, 701 W. Riverside Drive, Austin.
