Free Six Flags Tickets from Read to Succeed
Wednesday, January 11, 2012
Now until March 1, 2012, homeschooled children in grades K-6 can read their way to a FREE ticket to Six Flags through the Read to Succeed Program!
Read to Succeed is a program sponsored by Six Flags and Discovery Education that inspires K-6 students to engage in recreational reading. Homeschooled students who complete 6 hours of non school related reading, including newspapers, comic books, novels, and nonfiction, are eligible to earn a free Six Flags theme park ticket. Kids can read on their own, or parents can read to younger children.
Every homeschool teacher must register as an individual family, even if they participated in the program previously as a homeschool co-op, organization or group. The program now has a special page for homeschools to use to access all of their program information and updates, FAQs, and registration/submission instructions. Each registered homeschool must be located within a 250 mile radius of a participating Six Flags theme park.
In addition to free tickets for each student who completes their 6 hours of recreational reading, Read to Succeed will also issue one free teacher ticket to each registered homeschool.
Visit the Read to Succeed dedicated homeschool page for more information and frequently asked questions about the program.
If your child is not homeschooled and you would like for them to participate in this program, their school must register. Please visit the Read to Succeed sections for parents and teachers for more information.
