Free Family Event at the Wildflower Center
Monday, January 23, 2012
Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is free to visit during the month of January. Parking is free as well. I spent Saturday at the Wildflower Center and, as expected, there isn't a lot of color there right now. But it's still fun to climb the tower and to stroll along the Hill Country Interpretive Trails. If you'd like to visit the Center on a day where there are free guided walks and activities for kids planned, mark your calendar for this coming Saturday.
On Saturday, January 28, 2012, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., you can visit the Wildflower Center for Tree Talk Winter Walk. At this annual event you can enjoy guided walks and talks by local forestry experts. There will be family fun with a Kids Tree Climb and an educational tree scavenger hunt. TreeFolks will provide native tree saplings to those who complete the scavenger hunt. To see the schedule for this event, visit here. In the meantime, here are a few photos from my recent visit.
For more information on Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, visit their website. Admission is free through January 31, 2012.
